DPS added STEM classes for our elementary and junior high students this year, and they have done some great things...from creating their own video games, engineering a phone stand, creating Genius Hour projects, attending InVenture Day, and recently testing out bridge designs.
For the second semester, they want your help with "trash" that they will turn into projects, from: wrapping paper rolls, paper towel rolls, pieces/sheets of cardboard, corrugated cardboard, styrofoam sheets, pieces of bubble wrap, cardboard juice containers (washed & dried please!), various circular lids (from Gatorade bottles, pop bottles, etc. - to be made into wheels), cylinder-shaped containers (think protein powder containers, 28 oz cans), corks, 2 liter pop bottles (washed & dried please!), egg cartons and more.
If you can help, please drop these items off at the school for Mrs. Johnson!

DPS is so proud of these two! Both Brooke Sasse and Abbi Tuma have passed their state testing and are now certified nursing assistants (CNAs)! Congratulations to you two for earning this while being very involved in high school activities with a challenging workload!

Eighth graders started a snowball fight today in class! After writing the first part of a Christmas/holiday-related story, they threw their crumbled papers to the center of the room, picked up a 'snowball' story, and started writing again, this time continuing a classmate's story. The kids worked hard to include story elements that we've been identifying this semester.

Don't forget to attend the Deshler Express when you are in town for the basketball games on Saturday!
