Meet Kirsten, our new mental health therapist! Kirsten will be at DPS on FRIDAYS! While we will miss Kelsey Koranda, we know that Kirsten will be great to work with!

ONLINE PAPERWORK NEEDS COMPLETED TO TAKE PART IN SCHOOL ACTIVITIES!

HS Band has been practicing for the Nebraska State Fair! The band will perform at 10:45 on Tuesday, August 26. The bus will be leaving school at 8:15 (load 8:05) will arrive back for the end of the day. Students should wear shorts/jeans and a DESHLER shirt and tennis shoes, NO SANDALS. After their performance they will have free time to eat and check out exhibits. They should bring money for anything they would like to purchase or eat.

Today in preschool we worked on further developing our fine motor skills. It can be tough for children to peel stickers by themselves, but the repetition of peeling a sticker and putting it on paper leads to increased focus and concentration skills, while also strengthening those small muscles in the fingers.

The preschool year started on Monday! We have been working on color identification and our memory skills. Did you know that matching games enhance cognitive, fine motor and social skills? What a fun and simple activity to do with your child!

It is MAPS Testing week! We will use these results (as well as others) to determine our K-9 reading intervention groups.

JH sports' practices begin tomorrow and ALL paperwork is due to participate in school activities - incl. all online forms (handbook, etc).

REMINDER: Warranty has ran out on the Chromebooks. K-12 students are encouraged to purchase the insurance for $15/student.

WED - PreK AM and K-5 school pictures and THU - PreK PM & 6-12 school pictures. Make sure you turn in the envelope with your child's money any day this week prior to pictures!

A huge Congratulations to Stormi Capek, Sam Hoops, Colton Isernhagen, and Mallory Kleen for being named 2025 American FFA Degree Recipients! The American FFA Degree is the highest degree an FFA member can achieve, and less than 1% of members ever earn it. To qualify, members must complete years of recordkeeping, invest significant time and earnings into their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), demonstrate outstanding leadership and community involvement, and meet strict academic and FFA participation requirements. This accomplishment is especially exciting for Deshler FFA — in our chapter’s history, only one member has ever received the American Degree before. To have 4 members in the same year is very exciting! These remarkable leaders will officially receive their degrees on Saturday, November 1 at the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, IN. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to agriculture and FFA. 💙💛
