It’s Freshmen Enrollment Night at DPS! High school is just around the corner for these students…and that means it is time to start earning credits and thinking about post-secondary plans and even college requirements!

The archery numbers for elementary and JH are outstanding! This group has their t-shirts in hand & all 4th - 12th graders should wear them to their upcoming meets (if competing) on March 3rd (in Nelson) and March 19th (in Lincoln). Good luck to our archery students!

Reminder… group archery picture this morning at 8:15 AM for the yearbook. T-shirts will be handed out prior to the picture. This is for grades 4-12. Archery practice starts next week and will be held during PE time. We will get everyone worked in even if they don’t have PE!

February 17th was Random Acts of Kindness Day. Deshler students and staff received a candy bar from our FCA chapter with a personalized message about something kind they have done for someone at DPS. We have so much to be thankful for at DPS! Pay it forward! #bekind

Interviews are complete for 7th-12th graders! A big thank you to our volunteers — many who helped all three days. Students now understand what we mean by polishing that resume, giving the firm handshake, smiling & making good eye contact — because they have heard it a lot!

It's a great day to be a Dragon! Deshler alumni Craig (who also happens to be a professional composer) volunteered his time to come in and help our senior Chloe Mosier, who is a also interested in composition! Thank you, Craig, and good luck to you, Chloe!

The seniors are having a BAKE RAFFLE on Friday, February 18th, at the BB game. All proceeds will go to HUA (Hearts United for Animals) and Wounded Warriers. Buy a raffle ticket for $1 or buy six of them for $5 to support the seniors!

Haley Webber, president of the Deshler Chamber of Commerce, came in to talk to the Independent Living class last week.
She spoke about how the Chamber tries to help existing Deshler businesses and tries to welcome and help new businesses as well. Chamber sponsored activities such as breakfast with Santa, Easter Egg Hunts, Trunk or Treat, and Deshler Daze were highlighted as potential ways kids could get involved in the community. She spoke about the Chamber's desire to have our youth be involved and about things that our youth have helped with in the past. Thank you for keeping our community strong, Haley!

REMINDER: 7th & 9th grade interviews are happening on February 16th. Read more here on what you can expect & how to dress for the day: https://bit.ly/7-10CareerLetter.
