Senior Logan Lowery received the Walter Scott, Jr. scholarship from Southeast Community College, Milford Campus. The Walter Scott Jr. scholarship program is for students pursuing a technical education in construction, manufacturing or transportation. The scholarship provides full tuition, fees, room and board for up to four semesters at SCC in Milford.
Logan is enrolled to attend Southeast Community College, Milford Campus in the “Manufacturing Engineering Technology” program. Logan will begin his college education starting August of 2026 and has had a head start on the program with the dual credits he has taken at DPS while still in high school.
The scholarship program integrates both curricular and co-curricular learning experiences designed to develop technical expertise alongside essential social, emotional and problem-solving skills.
Applicants go through a multi-tiered process. The candidate(s) must first submit an application for the scholarship, along with letter(s) of reference. The pool of applicants are screened and downsized based on criteria developed for the scholarship. The smaller remaining pool of applicants are then interviewed. After the completion of the interview process, a handful of applicants are then chosen to receive the scholarship.

Congratulations to Logan!
