Our marching band has been practicing the last 2 weeks in preparation for the Thayer County Fair Parade tomorrow at 6 pm. Come out and support the kids!
Tuesday's Young Dragons' (5th and 6th grade) band lessons are cancelled.
High school band has marching practice at 7:00 PM on Tuesday and should be in the music room by 5 pm on Wednesday to prepare for the parade (which begins at 6 pm).
Cow pie bingo is at the CITY OFFICE until Wed! At parade time, it will be at the activity center, or you can contact any FFA alumni member to reserve your random square! $20/square or 3 squares for $50 -- an extra $5 lets you pick your square(s)!
It's getting so close...Staff and students are doing lots to prepare for the school year! Thank you to our marching band for leading the walk last night and to teachers attending trainings!

Marching band members: Don't forget - practice tonight at 7 PM...and then you are invited to meet us for our Deshler Community Prayer Walk! The band will be leading the group of us walking, so if you can't join us, peek outside your windows & watch/listen to us march together!

It's almost time!! Please join us for the Preschool Open House on August 15. If your child is enrolled in the morning class, please come from 5pm-5:30pm and if your child is enrolled in the afternoon class, please come from 5:30pm-6pm. We hope to see you there!
The next marching band practice will be Monday, July 31st from 7:00-9:00 PM. No practice on Wednesday or Thursday of this week!

Congrats to our FFA Alumni and FFA chapters...through these groups' collaborative efforts, the FFA chapter was awarded the Farm Credit Services of America FCS America Grant for $10,000 to put towards their greenhouse project...we are 97% of the way to our goal!
The Lady Dragons ended the day as Fun in the Sun Tournament Runners-Up! The girls went 20-3 overall in sets at the two-day camp and defeated Plattsmouth 2-0 and Sandy Creek 2-0, before losing to EMF 1-2 in the championship of the tournament today.
Way to go, Dragons!
Congratulations to senior Alyssa Malchow who competed at the Nebraska State 4-H Horse Show. She earned Senior State Champion Barrel Racer and placed 11th in the pole bending! Alyssa also competes in high school rodeo and plans to compete in college as well. Way to go, Alyssa!
The Dragons were undefeated in today's Fun in the Sun Camp! The team goes into day #2 of the camp tomorrow as the #1 seed after defeating McCool Junction, Maxwell, Plattsmouth, Hi-Line and Sandy Creek in straight sets, 2-0 across the board.
