Good luck to the JH Track-sters competing at their first meet of the year on Thursday in Superior! The meet begins at 10:00am!
10 am start for DPS on Tuesday, March 26th. The ACT test breakfast wjll begin at 9:50 am and the test at 10 am. JH track practice will begin at 10 am. No school breakfast served and no morning preschool.
There will be no school on Friday, March 29th and Monday, April 1st for Easter Break! Enjoy your break and Happy Easter!

DESHLER AMERICAN LEGION: Ava Kniep was chosen to represent the Deshler Auxiliary at Girls' State. She is the daughter of Holle Evert of Deshler and Mark Kniep of Byron. Ava is involved in FFA, Stuco, NHS, Musical, Show Choir, Cheer, Band, Choir, FCA, YAC, and a Lair Leader. Ava is a junior at Deshler Public Schools, taking college classes through SCC, to help prepare her for college. She plans on attending UNL after she graduates. She wants to study Sports Media or Psychology.

RUSKIN GIRLS' STATE SELECTION: Jacilyne Peterson, daughter of Cody & Shawna Peterson, is a junior at DPS involved in StuCo, VB, BB, track, cheer, FFA, FCA, NHS, D-Club and 4-H. Peterson is taking college courses, planning to major in Criminology & minoring in Criminal Justice, after she graduates in 2025. Congrats, Jacilyne!
We recently visited the Senior Center and colored pictures with them to hang in their windows! Coloring encourages creativity, builds confidence and focus and helps to improve hand-eye coordination. During our time there, the seniors and students have back and forth conversations which helps us to further develop language skills.
Last week we ventured out for a nature walk around the neighborhood. We have been talking about plants and living and non-living things. During this nature walk the preschoolers were able to identify many living and non-living things that we charted and then discussed when we came back to school. Nature walks can enhance observation skills, promotes smartness in kids and can provide opportunities for further developing language development.
