HERE is a link to the download of the following new sponsorship changes for our DPS organizations in the 22-23 school year.

FFA Program.  Mrs. Juliana Kroeger is already up and running with the Ag program, and we are excited about the new opportunities she is working on, from the greenhouse to crop plots, CTE pathways, FFA competitions and more!

Music Program.  We welcome Mrs. Holly Schoming as our long-term substitute teacher for the first semester while Mrs. Paige Hansen is finishing her studies at UNL.  Mrs. Hansen is working on a transitional permit, so she will be helping out with ag as well in the second semester, with plans of becoming our full-time music teacher in the fall of 2023.

We are fortunate to have Mrs. Schoming here for half a day during the first semester with her music endorsement!  If your child(ren) had music on their schedule that they received at the end of the year, they will still have music at the same time as it was shown.  Outside of the school day, the music program will be participating in:

  • TUE., AUG. 16TH:  Young Dragons (5th and 6th grade students interested in band) will pick out their instruments at the Open House; this group will continue to have weekly lessons after picking out their instrument on August 16th.  Exact time of day is still being determined.

  • SUN., SEP. 4TH:  Pep Band will play for the Homecoming Pep Rally on this night at the fairgrounds.

  • TUE., SEP. 6TH:  Pep Band will play for the VB game on this night (Homecoming week).

  • FRI., SEP. 9TH:  Patriot Day Program at 9 AM and pep band on this night for the Homecoming FB game.

  • TUE., OCT. 4TH:  Pep Band will play for the home VB game against Sandy Creek.

  • SUN., DEC. 4TH:  Night of the Fine Arts with the One Act at 5:30 PM, K-12 artwork & holiday concerts to follow.

Mrs. Paige Hansen and Mrs. McPherson will continue with the musical in the spring, as well as other scheduled performances.

One Act.  Ms. Andrea Jay (new Social Studies teacher) and Mrs. Grace Anderson (new kindergarten teacher) will be taking over the One Act program.  The group plans to attend all of the same competitions as they did last year.  Districts are scheduled for Wed., Dec. 1st, and they will perform for the public on Sun., Dec. 4th, prior to the K-12 programs.

Sports.  Mrs. O’Neal has taken over the sponsorship of cheerleading; Dr. McDonald, Mr. Firley & Mr. Mumm have taken over HS football; Mr. Brenn will be helping out Mr. Voss and Dr. McDonald with girls’ basketball; Dr. McDonald and Mr. Brenn have taken over JH football; and Mrs. McDonald has been named the head JH volleyball coach.

After School Programs (ASP).  Mrs. O’Neal and Mrs. Baker will have the K-6 program and Mrs. Epley will be overseeing the 7-12 program.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our Open House on Tuesday, August 16th, from 5 to 7 PMSchool begins on Thursday, August 18th, and don’t forget, the TARDY bell will ring at 8:05 AM this year, with the school day dismissing at 3:30 PM for all K-12 students this year.  GO DRAGONS!
