Help us welcome Mr. Madaux DeLong to DPS! Mr. DeLong graduated from Milford High School and will be graduating from UNL with a major in secondary math education in May 2026. He is currently student teaching Algebra and Geometry at Milford, as well as serving as a substitute teacher over the past year. At DPS, he will be teaching our high school math classes and proctoring our dual credit math classes, including: Advanced Algebra, Geometry, Pre Calc and Trig.

Coming from a family of five, Mr. DeLong's father is a non-destructive testing supervisor at General Dynamics in Lincoln while his mom is the Associate Director of Student Accounts for all three Southeast Community College (SCC) campuses. His younger brother is currently a senior at Milford Jr/Sr High School and plans to attend SCC in the fall. His younger sister is currently a sophomore at Milford Jr/Sr High School. A majority of his extended family lives in Nebraska with the rest originating from Ohio.

In his free time, Mr. DeLong likes to spend time with family and friends (particularly his younger brother), lift weights, watch football, basketball, and baseball, and listen to a variety of music.

When we asked him why he chose Deshler, he said he was excited to be a part of joining a school community that is small, tight-knit, and supportive. We think DPS will be the perfect fit for him!

Please help us welcome Mr. DeLong to Deshler while also extending a huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Colleen Hansen, who has completed all 39 years of teaching at DPS in our math department! We wish her well in her retirement & appreciate the knowledge & expertise she has poured into her subject matter here!
