Incoming junior Chloe Fangmeyer has been accepted into the UNK Health Science Explorers Academy program for the 2025-2026 school year.
The UNK Health Science Explorers Academy is a one-year program for high school students interested in a career in healthcare. Only 30 students were accepted as a part of this innovative educational program that provides students with opportunities to learn more about health sciences and the different careers in healthcare. Students will participate in science labs, practice starting IVs and suturing, spend time at UNMC (on the Kearney campus) doing patient simulations, and visit different hospitals and healthcare clinics. Students accepted into this program will meet monthly during the school year at UNK.
Upon completion of the Academy program, students will earn a $1,000 UNK scholarship. Completion of the program means that the student attended at least seven of the nine Academy days for the university during the school year.
Fangmeyer is the daughter of Tyler and Alisha Fangmeyer, and will be a junior at DPS this fall. Congratulations, Chloe!
