poets

This fall, Mrs. Moeller's English students in grades 8 and 9 submitted poems to be published in the Creative Communication: A Celebration of Today's Writers book.

Twenty-one students were selected to be published in the Fall 2023 issue. Less than 50% of the poems submitted are published, so it is quite an honor to be selected.

In addition to having so many students become published poets, Deshler Public Schools was awarded the Writing Achievement Award which acknowledges the top ten percent of schools who entered the contest. Schools selected to earn this award were chosen based on the number and quality of entries.

Two students, Marlee Weber and Ashlyn Christensen were published poets last year, making them double-published poets.

Congratulations to these talented, young writers!
