We are beyond excited to see all of YOU back in the halls of DPS! A few reminders heading into the final week before staff and students report for school:
- You are encouraged to turn in your paperwork and payments PRIOR TO the Open House, as well as completing all online paperwork (no paper print outs to be signed - all of this is done electronically!).
- Your online paperwork/permissions were sent via PowerSchool from Sarah Baden. Please contact her if you need the email resent (sarah.baden@deshlerdragons.org).
- All other required paperwork is linked to the Open House flyer HERE. Please note that the free/reduced lunch form also helps students potentially qualify for the ACE Scholarship, which covered up to 6 dual credit classes last year!
- Separate checks need written for FCA dues/shirts, lunches & the computer insurance payment.
- Mon., Aug. 7th: Fall sports' practices begin (no physical & NSAA consent form turned in = NO PRACTICE). Need another copy? It's linked to the Open House flyer.
- Cross Country Coach: Shannon LeFave, shannon.lefave@deshlerdragons.org, practice begins at 4 PM on Monday. Report to the front lobby.
- Volleyball Coach: Quinten Loontjer, quinten.loontjer@deshlerdragons.org, practice begins at 6-9 AM on Monday! Report to the HS gym.
- Football Coach: Damon McDonald, damon.mcdonald@deshlerdragons.org, practice begins at 6:30 - 9:30 AM on Monday. Report to the FB field.
- Tue., Aug. 8th: Marching band practice, 7-8 PM
- Wed., Aug. 9th: Band marching in the Thayer County Fair parade on Wednesday, August 9th at 6 PM (make sure to be in the band room by 5 PM)
- Mon., Aug. 14th & Tue., Aug. 15th: In Service for Staff
- Tue., Aug. 15th: OPEN HOUSE from 5-7 PM (REMINDER: 7-12 parents are encouraged to listen to our speaker in the HS gym at 6 PM, so please eat/visit classrooms between 5-6 PM). Students who take prescription medicines during the school day are reminded to bring those to the Open House to give to the school nurses! Senior poster pictures will be prior to this at 4 PM (in the HS gym, make sure you have your jerseys for the picture & nice jeans WITHOUT HOLES). The community is invited to the meal, to listen to the speaker, and to visit the school!
- Wed., Aug. 16th: First day of K-12 School! Breakfast is NOT served on the first day, but lunch will be....breakfast will resume on the 2nd day of classes! The tardy bell rings at 8:05 AM, so make sure you arrive by 8 AM at the latest. Elementary students report to the lower elementary doors on the EAST side of the building, secondary students report to the cafeteria/gym entrance on the NORTHWEST corner of the building.
