Deshler Public Schools Rising STARS Early Childhood Program is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 school year. For a child to be eligible to attend, he or she must be at least three (3) years of age on or before July 31, 2016. Total enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year is limited to twenty-four (24) students.
Student enrollment is composed of students with verified Individual Education Plans (IEP), reduced and full pay students. Verified IEP students, and students currently enrolled have first priority. The remaining slots will be filled starting with four (4) year old students followed by three (3) year old students. Deshler Public Schools implements the following selection criteria:
- Children who have been verified with a disability;
- Children currently enrolled in the 2015-2016 school year are eligible to attend the 2016-2017 year.
- Children not qualifying for one of the above (Four (4) year old students followed by three (3) year old students)
- Non-Resident Children (Four (4) year old students followed by three (3) year old students)
A sliding scale will be used to determine tuition charged to families’ whose children are attending Rising STARS Early Childhood Program. The sliding scale is based on National School Lunch and Breakfast Program guidelines. A family qualifying for free or reduced meals, tuition is eliminated or reduced. The Rising STARS Early Childhood Program will offer enrollment to children according to the following tuition guidelines (Sliding Fee Scale):
Program Tuition (per month September through May)
Special Education (IEP) - No Cost
Free Meal Program Eligibility - No Cost
Reduced Meal Program Eligibility - $25.00/per month
Full Pay Meal Program Eligibility - $50.00/per month
