Cow Eye Dissection with the Second graders
The high school anatomy and physiology class an April 1st did a dissection of a cow eye with the second graders. As the high school students dissect the cow eye the second graders observe dissection. During the dissection the second graders are encouraged to both touch and handle the cow eye parts. The second graders also search for the retina, sclera, iris, tapetum, cornea, vitreous humor, pupil, and lens during the dissection. At the end when they have found all the parts they then try to put the eye back together and talk about the differences between the cow eye and human eye.
